Our fifth year celebration of the Feed A Warrior Today project outreach program and World sickle cell day event in Yaounde, June 21, 2005 was a success. We are grateful for all those who travelled from far and near to support. We reached out to over 100 sickle cell warriors and their care givers.
We had some of our partner organisation Joy2Endure present. The founder Arrey Echi demonstrated how to make healthy fruit juices that help to boost iron levels and detox the blood.
We were honoured to have the presence of comedian and MC Mr Ndze who was our key note speaker and Biradzem Benoit Yuven who was the MC.
Warriors and their care givers were so happy and extended their most sincere regards to the founder, Nora E E Molongwe.
Other participants were very happy and expressed their wishes while praying for more of such events across the country.
Some participants travelled from far and near to attend this event. We had participants from Limbe, Buea, Bamenda, Douala etc. The foundation's Nurse volunteer, Jam Emile educated warriors and told them all the necessary steps to take in order to live a pain free life. He also encouraged the community to show love to sickle cell warriors as this would boost their survival and societal inclusion.
We had talks from parents raising sickle cell kids, sibling to a sickle cell child, a pastor.
The founder, Nora, demonstrated the genotype compatibility and the risks involved of partners having AS +AS get married.
The organisation gave specially recognition awards to two of their volunteers who have been with them for many years. They appreciate the services they have rendered to the cause.
Bags containing fruits and vegetables are distributed to sickle cell warriors.
Winners of the Essay writing competition were announced too on the day
